Forli features many points of interest. The Basilica of San Mercuriale is located in Forli's main square; it is dedicated to Aurelio Saffi. This basilica is the oldest monuments of the city.
Forli's church was built in the 12th century in a place where was located a sacred building dedicated to Santo Stefano in the 5th century.
A bell tower and a square cloister dating back from the 15th century stand close to the church. This is also where are located the Palazzo del Podesta that is a Romanic-Gothic building of the 15th century and the Palazzo del Municipio.
In the Southside of Forli is situated the Rocca di Ravaldino a fortified construction in shape of a square built in the 14th century.
Forli visitors shouldn't miss Casena located at a few kilometres along the Via Emilia. This is a city built during the Prehistoric period that kept precious monuments such as the cathedral of San Giovani Battista, the Biblioteca Malatestiana and the Rocca.
